Text size: bigger / smaller

When I received this product, I could’ve sworn it’s a soap. It wasn’t till I looked up the ingredients for this blog post that I saw it’s actually a body scrub! I love body scrubs and I rarely use soaps by Lush, so I’m happy. Today I’ll be reviewing this product, so if you’re curious about this product, make sure you keep on reading!

What is it?

Lush Turtle Power Body Scrub costs £10.00 / $13.00 / €13,00 (140g/4.2oz) and is part of the Lush x TMNT collab. This solid body scrub comes in one size, which is pretty chuncky. I love the design! The shape also makes it easy to use in the shower. This body scrub doesn’t just exfoliate the skin, it also contains a LOT of butters.

It’s been awhile since I’ve used a solid body scrub, I tend to grab my liquid scrubs first. Solid scrubs tend to be a bit more harsh for my sensitive skin, so I’m curious what the ingredients will be. It’s important to let the body scrub dry between uses.

What’s inside?

Ingredients: Fine Sea Salt, Organic Illipe Butter, Fair Trade Organic Mango Butter, Sodium Bicarbonate, Bamboo Stem Extract, Murumuru Butter, Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, Organic Shea Butter, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cream of Tartar, Kokum Butter, Organic Jojoba Oil, Bergamot Oil, Olibanum Oil, Cornstarch, Titanium Dioxide, Talc, Lauryl Betaine, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Tin Oxide, Hexyl Cinnamal, *Limonene, *Linalool, Perfume, Colour 42090:2, Colour 45410:2, Colour 47005:1, Colour 77499, Colour 77491

Okay, so I see fine sea salt, which is a not-so-gentle exfoliant. It’s followed by a lot of butters—illipe, mango, murumuru, shea and kokum butter. Five amazing butters to soften en hydrate the skin, so that’s positive. There’s bamboo stem extract, which is a very gentle, scrubbing ingredient. It’s more like a powder, so it’s not only gentle on the skin, but also VERY effective. Then we have coconut oil, jojoba oil, bergamot oil and olibanum oil. These contribute to the scent, which I’ll describe below. All in all the ingredients list looks good, but I’m kinda concerned about the fine sea salt.

Scent

The scent is amazing, just like the scents of the other Ninja Turtles products. Initially it reminds me of Krang Shower Jelly with its fruity berry aroma, but it’s nothing more than the classic Sultana scent! A lovely berry scent, just like Krang, but less fruity and ‘in your face’ than Krang’s Conga scent. It’s more creamy and mild scent wise. A lovely, creamy berries scent, is how I’d describe it.

What do I think?

I was surprised to ‘feel’ that the body scrub isn’t harsh at all—still it’s very gritty, which makes it super effective. It feels a bit like a piece of sand paper. On the skin, it melts very easily, which makes the body scrub very easy to glide across the skin and thus polish the skin. Immediately my nose is greeted by an amazing berry scent, which is a huge plus for me! I could even smell the berry scent lingering on my skin afterwards. My skin feels super soft, free of little bumps, and it looks way more glowy and healthy than my other arm. My dry ass skin preferably needs a blob of body lotion, but it already looks way less dry than before.

I’m seriously in love. There aren’t many Lush products that will leave my skin smelling like the product after using it, but this one does! The scrub is easy and quick to use due to all the melting butters, so it’s perfect to grab even when you’re in a hurry. No more excuses for unpolished skin! I’ve used the body scrub a few times now, and it barely even shrank. If you ask me, Lush can make a lot more of these solid body scrubs with all different scents.. *dreams about the possibilities*
