When I posted on my Instagram Story that I needed an Intergalactic Body Spray to exist, fellow Lushie @lunarangst told me there was, in fact, an Intergalactic Glitter Mist. Wait, what?!! Then this heaven-sent angel offered me to grab me one from her nearest Lush store. I didn’t even hesitate. I didn’t care how much it would cost, or how much the shipping costs would be, I NEEDED this product. A few weeks later I received it in the mail, and today I’ll be reviewing this exclusive product!

Lush Intergalactic Glitter Mist costs £20.00 and is available in 250g. It’s exclusive to Lush Kingston and Lush Glasglow. There’s also a Golden Egg and Snow Fairy glitter mist. It’s a new product, and I’m hoping it’s like a body spray—but with a shitload of glitters—since I’m such a huge fan of the Intergalactic scent. It would be amazing to carry this scent all day! There’s barely any information online on these glitter mists, but Lush says on the bottle: “Spritz glitter mist onto hair or body for an instant dose of sparkle.” Okay so it can be used not only as a body spray, but also a hair perfume.

Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Perfume, Himalayan Rock Salt, Peppermint Oil, Grapefruit Oil, Vetivert Oil, Cedarwood Oil, Carrageenan Extract, Titanium Dioxide, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Silica, Tin Oxide, Benzyl Benzoate, Citral, Coumarin, Geraniol, Limonene, Linalool, Colour 77491, Colour 42090, Methylparaben

This product’s first ingredient is water, followed by perfume. It contains all the characteristic ingredients, such as peppermint, grapefruit, vetivert and cedarwood. As you can see at the photo above, the glitter spray–of course–contains glitters. A LOT. They sink to the bottom of the bottle, so you’ll have to give it a good shake before using it. (Even though the bottle says there’s no need for shaking, I think we can all agree that shaking is necessary) The glitters are not too chunky, so it’s ideal for a party.. or actually for whenever. I’m genuinely scared I will turn into Edward from Twilight, but we’ll see.

The scent is of course the classic Intergalactic scent. A fresh, minty scent that’s not too minty–not like chewing gum. The grapefruit oil really enhances the minty notes, while the smoky aroma of vetivert and woody aroma of cedarwood balance out the overpowering minty notes. All together they create a wonderful, fresh and uplifting minty scent. I’m a big fan of minty scents, but if you’re not, you probably want to skip Intergalactic and check out the other two glitter mists.

After spraying it onto the skin, the fresh notes of peppermint and grapefruit hit first. After about 10 minutes, the minty notes settle into some warmer notes. I can still pickup some peppermint on my skin, but it has mellowed down a lot. I’m actually a bit disappointed at how quickly the scent fades. After 20 minutes, I can barely smell anything on my skin anymore. I had pretty high hopes when it comes to the sillage and longevity (I mean, have you ever tried Rose Jam body spray?), but it’s nowhere as strong as the body sprays. As a huge Intergalactic fan, I would’ve hoped this product would let me enjoy the scent for atleast a few hours, but even if you’re not a huge fan, you’d still want the scent to be a bit stronger. If I use the Intergalactic shower gel, the scent lingers on my skin for longer than this glitter mist. This is the same for application in your hair—pretty glitters in your hair, but barely any scent.

My skin glitters and shines, but not in an annoying way. It’s pretty, but it would be even better if this product wasn’t so diluted. Now I’m just left with some glitters and barely no scent on my skin at all. Luckily it’s a 250 gram bottle, so I can reapply the spray as much as I like, but glitter-wise I’ll think i’ll turn into a fairy stripper if I spray too much. You should also be careful with spraying this onto light-colored clothes, as the blue substance will stain your clothes. I’m sure it’ll come off in the washing machine, but all these minor cons don’t make me a fan of this product. I’m still very happy I got this product though–it looks pretty in my stash and I’m just one spritz away of smelling one of my favorite scents by Lush, but I really wished the scent would be much stronger.
