Calling out all 90’s and 90’s kids! Lush has teamed up with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for an amazing collaboration. I remember watching this show with my brother when we were younger. Lush PR team was so kind enough to send me the products, and I can’t be more excited to try everything out. Today I’m kicking off with our big, pink enemy—Krang!

If you’re curious about this product, make sure you keep on reading!

What is it?

Lush Krang Shower Jelly costs £11.00 / $15.00 / €14,00 (150g/5.2oz) and is part of the Lush x TMNT collab. This shower jelly is only available in one size, and comes in a recyclable tin with screw lid. Can we all take a moment to appreciate the looks of this tin? Lush really went above and beyond and I’m here for it! Upon unscrewing the lid, you’ll find our supervillain sitting in the tin. He’s pretty big for a shower jelly! And not just the tin has a great look, the shower jelly itself looks so damn cool. If you’re a fan of jellies, or a TMNT fan, this is one of the products you should consider buying! No need to fear this evil character now—just take him out of the tin, into the shower for a good body wash.

You can use a shower jelly as a whole piece, or cut it up in multiple pieces. Over the years I’ve found several ways of using a shower jelly, and I now prefer to put a little piece into a small organza bag. This way it won’t slip out of your hands, and the organza bag makes it easy to hold. The jelly also lathers up much more due to the friction. If you’re looking for more ways to use a jelly, read my blog post on How to use a Lush shower jelly.

What’s inside?

Ingredients: Glycerine, Irish Moss Infusion, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Propylene Glycol, Carrageenan Extract, Perfume, Titanium Dioxide, Bergamot Oil, Davana Oil, Almond Essential Oil, Vanilla Absolute, Sodium Alginate, Water (Aqua), Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Benzyl Alcohol, *Limonene, *Linalool, Colour 45410

Glycerine is, of course, the main ingredient of this jelly. Irish moss infusion is not only a binding agent for naked products, it’s also incredibly skin-softening. Carrageenan extract, which is a mucilage extracted from Irish moss seaweed, is moisturizing, replenishing and mineral-rich for the skin. Bergamot oil, davana oil, almond oil and vanilla absolute all together create an AMAAAZING scent for this shower jelly! Sodium Alginate is the final ingredient worth mentioning, as its very softening and soothing for the skin.

Scent

Do you remember that awesome Conga shower jelly we had years ago? Yep, our evil monster shares the same scent. The scent is powerful and incredibly stunning, if you ask me. It’s a very fruity scent, a burst of bergamot and berries combined, with a slight sweet vanilla note in the background. Seriously, I love this scent. If you’re a fan of the Blackberry of The Comforter scent, then I’m sure you’ll appreciate this scent as well.

What do I think?

In the shower, I unscrew the lid and grab Krang out of the tin. While holding him, I rub him over my skin a few times, which results in leaving behind a thin layer of the substance. When I add some water, the substance foams up a little bit, making it easy to spread the product across my skin. The scent is fully coming alive and transforms the entire bathroom into a giant Conga party, full of berries and vanilla. The shape of Krang makes him easy to hold and to use, which I think is definitely a plus.

After towelling down, I can smell a tiny bit of the Conga scent on my skin, but somehow I expected the scent to be stronger on my skin. My skin didn’t really feel more hydrated or soft, so even though this product is fun to use, it doesn’t seem to do a lot for my skin. I can notice a slight glow on my skin, compared to the arm where I didn’t use Krang, but that’s all. Still, I like this product. All in all I’m in love with the packaging, the jelly itself and the scent. So while I wouldn’t buy a second one, I will definitely enjoy using this one.
